Upcoming LDAK Conference – Fall 2011


You won’t want to miss the return of the annual LDAK conference!  This year, we have booked keynote speaker Naomi Zigmond, PhD, who will be focusing on co-teaching and making inclusion meaningful for students with learning disabilities. Other details being planned include breakout sessions targeting:

  • Parent involvement and collaboration in the development of IEP’s
  • Executive functioning interventions for those with neurological disabilities
  • Environmental modifications for those with sensory and attention difficulties
  • ELL and LD considerations – identification and intervention strategies

Additionally, a resource fair is being planned for the duration of the conference. Organization representatives will describe how the supports and services of their organization can be accessed by families and professionals as well as share resource and educational materials with conference attendees.

Logistics

The conference will be hosted at Johnson County Community College on Saturday, November 5th, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Save the date!
