The Healthy Indoor Environments Conference is in its sixth year providing exceptional education and training in the area of environmental health at a reasonable cost to the public. Originally held in 2004 by the US Environmental Protection Agency, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and Children’s Mercy Hospital and Clinics the conference is proud to highlight local experts from the four state region of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska as well as national experts, presenting topics relating to the built environment and how it impacts public health and wellbeing.
This year's Conference will be held October 7 - 8, 2010, at the Overland Park Convention Center. Our sponsors are excited to join forces with the Learning Disabilities Association of Kansas in holding a "conference within a conference". Recognizing the correlation between environmental contaminates and learning disabilities, the 2010 Conference will offer a technical track which will focus on these issues. "The Environment and Children" track will include sessions addressing a wide range of environmental issues and their impact on children’s health and development.
To facilitate the schedules of LDAK members, the "conference within a conference" will begin in the afternoon on Thursday, October 7th and end that evening at a reasonable time. More information on the conference will be coming in the near future, so mark your calendars and plan on joining us October 7, 2010.
